Nobel Biocare Quality

Nobel Biocare is one of the leading manufacturers of dental equipment, implants, and other materials. Nobel Biocare may be on the cutting edge of the dental implant industry, but the company has a long history with implants and the dental industry. The company is based in Kloten, Switzerland, but it has a unique past that shows why Nobel Biocare is uniquely equipped to produce incredibly high-quality, advanced dental implants and prosthetics.

The Beginning of Dental Implants

Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark, the "father of modern day implants," approached Swedish company Bofors AB with the idea of manufacturing dental implants in 1978 shortly after the Swedish health authority approved using dental implants. At the time, Bofors AB mainly produces arms and artillery, but Branemark suggested the company begin manufacturing dental implants to reach a larger market. Executives agreed, and in 1981, they created the spinoff company Boros Nobelpharma.

Growth and Becoming a Worldwide Brand

Logo of dental implant company Nobel Biocare, maker of All on 4, as used by periodontist in South Ogden, UT.This new company created implants, abutments, and instruments for placing them. Once Branemark's research on osseointegration was presented at the Toronto Conference on Osseointegration in Clinical Dentistry in 1982, the company’s tools and materials were suddenly in high demand. In 1993, following the U.S. FDA’s approval of titanium implants, the company opened Nobelpharma USA and began marketing Branemark’s implant system in the United States. It wasn't long before subsidiaries in Canada, Japan, France, Australia, Germany, Italy, and the UK were opened.

Nobelpharma later acquired the Procera System created by Dr. Matts Andersson. This system allowed for dental crowns to be quickly manufactured without losing any of the precision needed to create high-quality dental prosthetics. The company continued to expand over the next two decades, growing and introducing new technology.

Nobel Biocare Today

Today, Nobel is still known for leading the industry in new dental implants and other restorative dental components. The company’s All-on-4® Treatment Concept implants and crowns are used by dental experts around the globe because they trust the brand and its equipment. It’s important that you have high-quality, durable implants and replacement teeth. These teeth should last your entire life. We sometimes see people in their twenties come in for All-on-4® Treatment Concept replacement teeth and some in their teens are in need of single tooth replacements or bridges after accidents. That means these implants may need to last for 70 or 80 years.

We trust Nobel Biocare’s implants to do just that. The company is exceedingly careful in choosing their materials. The production methods Nobel Biocare uses ensures that the implants will be created without any defects. This helps guarantee that the implant will have a high success of osseointegration and properly fuse with the jawbone. The high quality and high skill with which Nobel Biocare manufacturers their implants make the company’s materials stand out. Their implants bond quickly and are more compatible with the tissue in your mouth. This reduces the time it takes for your gums to heal following implantation.

We want to make certain all of our patients have the best care, and to us, that means using high-quality products and tools from a company we know we can rely on. Nobel Biocare is one of those companies.
